The secret to living is happy giving!

Project Backpack was organized to distribute backpacks to children who have been removed from their homes in situations of domestic violence, neglect, abuse, or natural disaster. Project Backpack has been serving at-risk children in Metropolitan St. Louis since 1999 by providing area police departments, social service agencies, domestic violence shelters and Department of Family Services workers with backpacks filled with necessities and comfort items. These filled backpacks are delivered to children on-the-scene and at the moment they are needed. The backpacks make a huge difference for children who are removed from their homes, usually with nothing but the clothes on their backs.
